Do you practice what you preach ?

"And you should follow my example, just as I follow Christ's"
Taken from the BIBLE, 1 Corinthians 11:1

I have been always wondering, why are some of my friends around me are falling from Christ, fallen from Grace. Our God is a true and living God, and they know that and why they still want to deny the fact. Sometimes, some people just don't like the way christian behaves.

I realise, action do speak louder than words.

We, christian preach alot about following Christ examples, be Christ-like. But yet our action tell the other things. There is this song that goes like this...

"Do you practice what you preach ?"
"Do you turn the other cheeks?"

Yes! Do we really put in practice what we are preaching?

" Oh, it's ok! God will forgive us, after all, we are all not PERFECT! "

I hear christian saying this all time. I believe that is not the right way. It's just excuses!

Yes, God will forgive us, but what's the point of asking for forgiveness when you don't intend to change at all. Being imperfect is not something you use to cover up. I believe we christian should not talk about how imperfect we are but we should talk about how perfect we are going to be. Perfect in this case, Christ-like, putting what we preach in practice.

I believe most people turn away from Christ, especially those who were once christian is because of our actions. They can't see the act in us, they can't see the life in us, they simply just can't sense Christ in us.

The best way to share BIBLE, God's Word is not asking that person to sit down with you and read the verses. It is through your lives, every individual action, speech that show people how true and living our God is. Our lives should reflect the image of Christ not the image of our imperfection.

But it is because of our imperfection we are unable to reflect the image of christ. Well, how perfect we are going to be is impossible, even wif the faith, cos no one in the bible is oso being able to perfect. They are only almost 2 be christ like.

it will depend how you define imperfection, in this case not putting what we learn from or preach from the BIBLE in practice.

yes, what u said is true, but it sometime it is also the imperfection in us that reflects the image of Christ. For example, b4 i'm a christian i'm a very impatience person, but after i recieve Christ, i'm change, not totally, but at least not easily lost my patience sometimes and people can see that and people will sense somthing is different in you.

As what u said about we only can almost be perfect, that's not really true, at least i do not agreed with it. You think about it, if we aim to be almost there we will never get there, but if we aim higher, there is chances that we can get there.

and also in the BIBLE Paul said this to the people

1 Corinthians 11:
"And you should follow my example, just as I follow Christ's"

he did not said follow my example as i almost follow Christ or try to follow my example as i follow Christ.

so i think, in the end it's still not about taking your imperfection as a cover up for mistakes u make but re-direct it to God and change it.

You identify, people each time make comments when anything is predicted to happen in 2012, like “obviously that is if the age is still here.” You do achieve that the Mayans prognosticate the creation will end on Dec. 21 (or 23rd)? So in all good chance if anything is accepted to take place in 2012 there is solitary the slimmest possibility that the world will have ended before it happens.
