The reason of you believe in what you believe...

"Please don't be so easily shaken and troubled by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Even if they claim to have had a vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us, don't believe them." taken from the BIBLE 2Thessalonians 2:2

I'm amazed by this monk who delectated his life to buddhism, which he said he found hope in this religion in his darkest part of his lifetime, and this buddhism teaching enlighten him, which he illustrate as "a light shine with a helping hand carry him up from the darkness" (translate directly from chinese).
This was shown in Channel U program called "A Ray of Light"

I'm amazed because why did he willing to delicate himself to the teaching, willing shave his hair, devoted himself as a buddhism monk. What's the factor that makes him to do that. To think that the teaching is the truth, the way and the light in his darkness. I'm wondering what will he be like if, it was the BIBLE he read during his darkest part of his life. I wonder again why is it not Christ but buddha, he choose to devote himself to. I'm sure he somehow had heard about the Christ.

I'm curious to know why, i'm always curious. I wonder what's the very thing in buddhism that makes him so devoted himself into. I went to search on web to know more about buddhism scriptures. I found alot of articles about buddhism, i even found the whole Book of Buddha, for bonus I even found some other articles about muslim faith.

And the conclusion I get from reading all this articles is, all of them are so real. They all claim they have the truth, they are the way. Comparing others religions to theirs, countering each other teachings, trying to proof who have more truth who are better. To me, it's like all this article are trying to sell their religion to the readers, as if there are "neutral" believer "shopping" for religion to believe in. But I'm really amazing by those people who went through all the research and studies to write all this articles, at least they take the effort to proof their faith.

I start to question myself (you can said that I'm too free to think about such things) if I'm a non-believer of any religion which will I choose to believe in and why. I also question myself why I still choose to believe in the BIBLE, choose to stand firm in my belief as a Christian when all this words of religions appearing so real, so true...

I can't really answer the 1st question because I'm not a non-believer of any religion. I can answer the 2nd question because I'm a Christian. My answer is, I find peace in Him,my God. I feel free in Him. I feel joyful. This might sound very cliche kind of answer. But, I experience it !

I was not born in a Christian family, my family were not Christian, I use to go temple to worship those gods, goes to mediums and stuff like that. But, when I became a Christian, there is this peace that fills me, this peace, I can't feel it in those temple i use to go when I'm young, this peace, I can't get it from those mediums. And then there was joy, I feel joyful to go to church as compare to go to those temple, I mean I still remember when I'm young I don't like to go temple with my parent, but church was so different.

I start to realise, it is very important to know the reason of you believe in what you believe and more important to practice what you believe.

For those who found that reason, can you be sure that you will not be shaken by any other reasons...
